LAUSANNE,  19th February 2017 – A mission to China with a double target: to promote the skimo development in the Asian country and to visit the olympic sites which will host part of the wintersport disciplines during Beijing 2022 winter Games. The ISMF international ski mountaineering Federation is on tour. President Armando Mariotta, Marco Mosso, Vp marketing and communications and the technical consultant Alexandre Pellicier, will be visiting the country during this week, in order to meet  the Chinese mountaineering Association, the Chinese ISMF members and a delegation of ASMF, Asia ski mountaineering Federation, which was founded in 2009 on the initiative of the Chinese mountaineering Association (CMA), the Korean Alpine Federation (KAF) and the Japan mountaineering Association (JMA) and has now welcomed also Iran among the members. The delegation will take part to the Chinese national ski mountaineering Challenge 2017 – Asian ISMF series. This is a kind of “peak” period for the skimo movement all over the world: together with the Chinese challenge, in a few weeks time South Korea will host the Ismf series and in the meantime in Italy everything is getting ready for the world Champs. “We will be working both technically and politicallysay Mariotta and Mosso - : on the one hand, we will be checking the possibility of carrying on some new ski mountaineering projects in China. Secondly, we will visit the olympic site of the Chongli county to better assess the chance of having more races there”. China has already applied for the ISMF world Cup and  will be one of the world Cup stage in the 2017/8 season, hosting a couple of races of the calendar.
