ISMF VERTICAL WORLD CUP - VAL D'ARAN, SPAIN

LAUSANNE, 9th April 2017 - The 2017 Ismf world cup circuit concluded with the vertical race on Sunday 9 April in Val d'Aran, Spain. The wonderful sunny weather held out for the race and the final prize giving ceremonies.

Although the first kilometre didn't present any big difficulties, the 680m vertical ascent  included various steep and challenging sections particularly over the last kilometre. In Spain the race is considered a true classic and the organisers proved themselves by creating a great race at world cup level.

Italy excelled once again with Damiano Lenzi (00:26:50.06) who propelled himself into first position with an easy lead of nearly 14 seconds from the second place, the Swiss Martin Anthamatten (00:27:03.98) followed by the Italian Michele Boscacci (00:27:17.25) in the third place.

Axelle Mollaret, France finished her world cup season with gold (00:32:31.71), with an enviable margin of just over 31 seconds on the second place, Victoria Kreuzer (Switzerland) with 00:33:02.98 and in third place Katia Tomatis (Italy) with 00:33:17.14
